Look your best consistently.
Be THE yearbook expert in your territory with YourBook.
YourBook is a monthly yearbook-related newsletter you send to your customers and prospects. But you don’t write it, you don’t print it, you don’t fold it, you don’t label it, you don’t mail it or pretty much do anything to it. We do it all for you.
We create websites for Jostens reps. Our Yearbook-Easy site will be perfect for you.
You are in business. You need a website. Why not a website that has yearbook content ready to go? Starting with our Yearbook-Easy website, we plug in your info and any photos you send us. From there, you just have to tell people where to find your site. We’ll even help with that by putting it on your newsletter in a very prominent place.
The BEST piece you can hand to any yearbook adviser.
There is no better Yearbook Adviser Guide anywhere in the industry. Our competitors wish they had something like this that would get their advisers through the year and is totally personalized. It’s a comprehensive guide book for the new and old adviser alike.
When you want to SELL something, we have you covered!
In the fall of 2007, a Jostens rep from Connecticut approached me about creating some brochures/flyers/newsletters that SOLD our products and services. He said that, in his territory, competitors were constantly dropping off printed pieces about products and services that thought they could provide better than he could. He wanted something he could leave in their schools to put some heat back on them and to get the schools to let him in their door so he could make a presentation.
When is a business card more than a business card?
When it sells YOU, that’s when.
We know that many of you have Jostens corporate business cards, and we think they are one of the classiest cards around. They do everything a business card, in a business setting, is supposed to do; that is, they introduce you as a representative of Jostens. In fact, we carry two cards. We specifically use the Jostens corporate card when giving them to school administrators.
Let them know you stopped with our Sorry I Missed You cards.
The message we have heard from Jostens Sales Management over the years is, “Get in touch with the administrators in your schools.” A lot of you heard that message and some of you asked me if I could design a card for you that could be left behind with a message for an administrator. I went four steps further and designed five cards you can leave behind in a schoolhouse when you try to see a principal but can’t connect. They also work great when you stop to see a prospect and that adviser is not there or is just unavailable to you.
Send one-of-kind yearbook themed Greeting Cards.
I get requests from reps all the time for yearbook-themed versions of normal things that you can buy anyplace. This idea came from a few were looking for a greeting card (specifically to send customers and prospects at the holidays) that could also act as a marketing tool. Thus our line of studio-designed and custom greeting cards was born. Christmas, Thanksgiving (no one else sends those—so you should), Birthday and Thank You cards are just some that we have designed.
How about a brand new YOU? The key word here is BRAND!
Nothing brands you, like you! Seeing you arrive with your e-mail, on your business card, on your website, on a greeting card, on a Sorry I Missed You card or on anything you send out is like sending a little mini-you to visit. We really mean it—nothing brands you…like you.
Nothing is as personal as a note on your own Notecards.
Ok, I admit it, I am old. I am one of those people who actually still sends Thank You notes and other written (not typed, not texted, not e-mailed) correspondence. Why do I send a hand-written note when I could type out a quick e-mail in half the time, not to mention avoid the hassle of actually writing, addressing, stamping and actually mailing a real paper card? Because I stand out. Isn’t that what you want to do? Stand out?
Be on every desk in every school with our Notepads!
Here’s something for the gatekeepers in your school. Many times it’s the office staff (the school secretary, the principal’s secretary, the bookkeeper, etc.) who can make or break you in a school. If it’s a prospect school, they are the gatekeepers. They keep you out. I hate when they won’t let you in to see an adviser or administrator when you are cold calling.
On the other hand, that’s exactly how I want the office staff at my own schools to be. I want them to NEVER let the competition in to see my adviser; that will make me the happiest yearbook rep you have ever met.
Play that Works–Motivation for Yearbook Staffs
Play that Works is a wonderful book that anyone who teaches, advises or leads a group of people should have. It contains more than 80 proven methods of “play” that will help your adviser make his or her group into a cohesive and industrious unit so they can do their “work.”
Your (or our) crazy ideas = Our Specialty Products.
From time to time, we get crazy ideas about products that might be something you could use to help you market you. Sometimes we think of them ourselves, and sometimes reps like you come to us with their ideas. We’ll produce a sample, send it to all our current customers and ask how many want to order whatever it may be. The results are usually very gratifying and enable us to provide everyone with personalized marketing materials at a substantial group discount because we buy so many.
There’s not much we don’t know about Workshops.
We have been with Jostens for more than 30 years. Sadly, that is now longer than some Jostens reps have been alive. And we have been doing yearbook and technology workshops in Spring, Summer and Fall for the entire time. We have run big workshops, and we have run tiny seminars. We can help you run your workshop, we can help you promote your workshop or we can teach at your workshop. When it comes to workshops, we do it all.
We take the hassle out of Direct Mail.
Need to mail a whole lot of somethings to a whole lot of people? Never did that before? Let us help or, better yet, do it for you. We love to do direct mail which, contrary to popular opinion, is still a great way to get into people’s heads. Sell yearbooks, personalization, workshops or just about anything. We can set up any kind of mailing from a simple mailer to a completely mail merged campaign.
Need to appeal to administrators? Then you need YourSchool
In 2001, then President of Jostens (and my long-time friend) Val Williams suggested that I produce the same type of newsletter for scholastic and yearbook reps to send to their administrators. Something that would educate and inform them about graduation, motivation and more. Thus YourSchool was born. We have been creating it five times each year since then.
Want to teach Photoshop at your workshop? This is for you!
Koobraey Productions has a 15-lesson Basic Photoshop for Yearbook course that you can purchase and hand to a teacher, or fellow rep who will be teaching at your workshop, to teach from. They don’t really have to have prior knowledge of Photoshop. They just need to be able to sit down for 3-4 hours run through the course at least twice before they teach it.
